Ownership at Work (OAW) and the Employee Ownership Association (EOA) are launching a search for a research partner to collaborate on a large-scale project to significantly upgrade the quality and rigour of the national evidence base for employee ownership (EO).

The EO Knowledge Programme is an 18-month multi-strand research project that aims to transform the UK’s understanding of EO.

There is rapidly growing interest in sharing ownership and participation with workers and employees in the UK. The sector is under increasing pressure to provide stronger evidence to support the claims made on behalf of the model. To do that the sector needs:

  • Better evidence including facts and data that demonstrate the impact of EO
  • EO-specific good practice data so EO firms can benchmark, learn and improve
  • To demonstrate any difference EO makes compared to other business types
  • To give a full account of EO impact on commercial performance and on employees, communities and the planet

Today an invitation to quote is published to help identify one or several highly credible independent research partners.

The process launches today (7 September 2022) and will close at midnight on Wednesday 5 Oct, allowing 4 weeks for responses from interested parties.
